ST. PETERSBURG — Utility billing rates will be changing for the City of St. Petersburg on Oct. 1, upon city council approval.
St. Petersburg utility rates and charges are evaluated and updated each year. St. Petersburg City Council will consider adjustments to water, wastewater, reclaimed water, stormwater and sanitation utility rates and charges for the upcoming fiscal year that begins Oct. 1.
City Council will conduct a First Reading on Thursday, Aug. 17, to formally set the date and time of the Public Hearing. A full presentation on the proposed utility rates will be given at the Public Hearing on Thursday, Sept. 7, and City Council will consider the proposed utility rates for final adoption.

The proposed rate adjustments will be available at stpete.org/rates. If approved, any utility rate changes will take effect on Oct. 1, and will be noted in utility bills.
Utility fees support the continued efforts to increase the capacity and reliability of St. Pete’s water resources, sanitation, and stormwater utilities. Fees also support the operations, maintenance, and infrastructure of those utilities.
Utility fees are vitally important in supporting St. Pete’s aging infrastructure, most of which has reached or exceeded its design lifespan. The city is currently working on projects within St. Pete’s Water Plan, a multi-year capital improvement master plan, to make improvements and plan for the future to ensure safe, reliable service.

Customers are encouraged to contact the St. Pete Utility Customer Service Call Center at 727-893-7341 or Utility.Bill@stpete.org to make payment arrangements as soon as possible to avoid any associated fees and termination of service.
