Be the first to show in the King James Version of the bible where God told the man that He created, (in His image and likeness) not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and the studio will be yours.

In part one of this challenge, I explained why it is impossible for Genesis 2:16-17 to be referring to the man created in the image of God. Let’s go over it again, but this time we will slow things down by putting events in chronological order.

1. God creates man (mankind) in His own image.

   • So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Genesis 1:27

2. God tells the man that was created in His image that he could eat from every tree in the garden, without excluding the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

   • And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.  Genesis 1:29

3. God looked at everything that He had made, including mankind, and saw that it was very good.

   • And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Genesis 1:31

4. God rested after He finished making the heavens, earth, and all the host of them, including the man that was created in His image and likeness.

Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.  Genesis 2:1-2

Genesis 2:1-2 is a final time-line, where God has finished everything that He had made, including the man that was created in His own image and likeness. Whatever God needed to do to create man in His image and likeness was done and finished. Nothing was required afterwards to complete the man that was created in God’s image and likeness. To add anything to the man after Genesis 2:1-2 and say that it too is what makes man of the likeness and image of God, is to say that God wasn’t finished.

Example: To say that man is a three part being, spirit, soul, and natural body after the image and likeness of God, is to add another part to God’s finished work. God finished man in the body of Christ before the world began, without him having a natural body. It is understood that man needed a physical body to move about in the earth to do God’s will in the natural realm, but that does not make the natural body become part of what makes the man created in God’s image. God finished making man in His likeness and image long before the natural body was formed from the dust of the ground at Genesis 2:16-17.

To say that the natural body is part of God’s image and likeness is like saying, God finished making a man in His image, and saw that he needed a car to do His will in the earth. So God planted the man in a vessel called a car. Would that make the vessel called a car have the image and likeness of God? This natural body that we move about in is not created in the image and likeness of God. It never was and never will be. It has a mind and life of its own that is contrary to who we are.

Finally, everything that happens after Genesis 2:1-2, has to do with Christ making God’s finished spiritual works, manifest in this natural world.

Now, can you look between Genesis 1:27 and Genesis 2:1-2 and show me where God told the man that He created in His image and likeness not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of Good and evil?
