ST. PETERSBURG — Guests are always welcome to any service or class at Unity of Midtown. Since I became the Spiritual Leader of the church nine months ago, we’ve been blessed to have first time and returning guests every Sunday. Nevertheless, Family and Friends’ Day is a special opportunity for members of the church to invite their family and friends to worship with them.
Many churches have family and friends’ days. Some have it monthly, and others have it annually. At Unity of Midtown, we have it quarterly. Every fifth Sunday is Family and Friends’ Day. It is an exciting time in the life of our church because everyone is focused on sharing their spiritual growth.
Our last event in March was called “Full Capacity Sunday.” Our goal was to fill every seat in the sanctuary, which we thought that was 146 people. We experienced increase, abundance, overflow and more than enough. We had 163 people comfortably seated in the church.
Our next Family and Friends’ Day is this Sun., May 31 beginning at 10:30 a.m. The theme is “Let’s Do It Again” because we desire to fill every pew again. We expect so many guests that we have contracted with Johns Hopkins Middle School for the use of their parking lot to accommodate every vehicle.
As a part of the festivities, we are having a little, friendly competition. A special gift will be given to the member who brings the most family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, classmates, etc. All of our guests will receive a free CD of the message. After service, we are also having a light reception.
Join us for Family and Friends’’ Day to enjoy a great service, obtain your free CD and see which member wins the prize.
