Application for Pinellas Recovers Mini Grants are now open

Creative Pinellas offers Pinellas Recovers Mini Grants to arts organizations with operating budgets of $175,000 or less that serve Pinellas County.

PINELLAS COUNTY – Creative Pinellas opened applications for the Pinellas Recovers Mini Grants earlier this week. Creative Pinellas offers Pinellas Recovers Mini Grants to arts organizations with operating budgets of $175,000 or less that serve Pinellas County.

The grants in the amount of $1,000 are intended to help organizations become stronger, more stable and positioned to grow by funding a specific operating need. Smaller arts organizations that may not have experience applying for grants are encouraged to explore this grant.

Grants are funded through the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) American Rescue Plan. Applications will be reviewed and funded on a rolling basis until all funding has been allocated.

“We are very pleased to extend these mini grants to arts organizations in Pinellas County,” said Creative Pinellas CEO Barbara St. Clair, “because we know how important it is to continue to fund the arts in Pinellas County.”

The Pinellas Recovers Mini Grants are the fifth COVID-related funding program Creative Pinellas has initiated or worked on, including the Arts Community Relief Fund in the spring of 2020 and the Cares Act funds through the County, which distributed over $3.5 million to artists and arts organizations.

“When the National Endowment for the Arts granted us these funds, we knew this would allow us to continue to strengthen our mission and spark a positive change for Pinellas County,” stated St. Clair.

Guidelines and online applications are currently online. The deadline for these mini grants is rolling until funds are depleted. This is a one-time grant, and no match is required. The grant period runs through April 10, 2023.

“These grants recognize the vital role of local arts agencies and will allow them to help rebuild local economies and contribute to the well-being of our communities,” said Ann Eilers, NEA’s acting chair.
