Celebrate the 99th anniversary of Bethel Community Baptist Church with Bishop Manuel L Sykes and others from Oct. 21-23.
ST. PETERSBURG — The Bethel Community Baptist Church will celebrate its 99th anniversary from Oct. 21-23. Under the spiritual and enthusiastic leadership of Bishop Manuel L Sykes,”Walking With God ” is the theme for this year’s celebration from the scripture reference of Genesis 5:21-22, 24.

Friday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. (Rev. Durrell Sykes) — Pastor “D” was born and raised in Miami and attended Dade County Public Schools. After graduation, she attended Clark-Atlanta University in Atlanta and received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Arts.
She celebrates being raised in the Baptist Church and serving in ministerial leadership for approximately 25 years. Rev. Sykes was ordained in the African Methodist Episcopal Church in 2016 and received her pastoral appointment as the first woman pastor of New Bethel A.M. E. Church-Hialeah.
Saturday, Oct. 22 — From 9-11 a.m., a Spiritual Fellowship Workshop, Walking with God/Hard Reset.
From 11-2 p.m., join them for family, music and fun activities.
Sunday, Oct. 23 at 10 a.m. (Bishop Edward Robinson, Sr.) — Pastor of the Southside Church of God in Christ, Jurisdictional Prelate of the Florida Central Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdictional Prelate of the Church of God in Christ Inc. Bishop Robinson received a Bachelor of Theology from Southeastern Bible College in Orlando and studied further at Rice Seminary. He also obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Edward Waters College.
