‘We are so excited to continue investing in the excellent work being done to improve the lives of people who call St. Petersburg home,’ said Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kanika Tomalin.
ST. PETERSBURG — The submission deadline for the Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg and Bayfront Health’s joint 2023 grantmaking application is less than a week away on Friday, Oct. 6. Bayfront Health announced earlier this year that it would issue a dollar-for-dollar match of the Foundation’s 2023 grantmaking funds, significantly increasing the local grant funding pool.
The two will jointly award a combined $2.9 million in funding to be split between two 2023 strategic grantmaking priorities; $1.1 million will go towards Mental Health and Wellness for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), and $1.8 million will fund work in Economic Equity and Justice. Grant amounts range from $10,000 for capacity-building up to $500,000 for multi-sector collaboration.
Other funding categories include research, professional development and training, and programmatic operations. Visit the Foundation’s grantmaking page to see the full request for proposals (RFP) and learn more.
“We’re excited to support the South St. Petersburg community with these critical grant funds,” said Bayfront Health St. Petersburg President John Moore. “We strive to be a dependable resource for our community, and we look forward to funding impactful projects through this partnership with the Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg.”
At their application opening event on Aug. 8, the Foundation and Bayfront Health provided details on the grant application, also known as a Request for Proposals (RFP), letting attendees know what kinds of opportunities they’re funding and how to apply. Details were also shared about how proposals will be evaluated by a five-member team of reviewers comprised of two Bayfront Health and three Foundation representatives.
“We’re so appreciative of this continued partnership with Bayfront Health, which allows us to deepen our impact and investment in the community,” said Foundation President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kanika Tomalin. “Grantmaking is a key pillar of our work to achieve health equity through racial equity. We are so excited to continue investing in the excellent work being done to improve the lives of people who call St. Petersburg home.”
