CLEARWATER — LJ Tucker grew up in North Greenwood, Clearwater; today, he is an established family man and a certified arborist with more than two decades of experience, operating the successful tree maintenance company Tucker Enterprises in Oldsmar.
But with a personal story that includes growing up in poverty, ending up on the wrong side of the law, and surviving being electrocuted on the job, Tucker is using his experiences to inspire others in his new book, 7000 Volts, Living an Electrified Life.
“My journey hasn’t always been easy. As a young man, I got into serious trouble that ultimately landed me behind bars. That season of my life forced me to confront who I was becoming. I made a choice to change, and it was one of the hardest—but most important—decisions I’ve ever made. That experience taught me about accountability, humility, and the power of second chances,” Tucker recently shared.
Years after starting his business, he survived being struck by 7,000 volts of electricity, which doctors called “a miracle.”
“The experience shook me to my core. It became a turning point—not just physically, but spiritually and emotionally. That moment inspired my new book, 7000 V: Live an Electrified Life.”
Tucker’s book is part memoir, part guidebook, as he guides readers through a 12-step process for “transforming trauma, mistakes, or burnout into clarity and purpose.”
Tucker said, “My hope is that readers walk away knowing they’re not broken—they’re powerful. We all have the ability to rewrite our story.”
Tucker’s story has been followed in local news for two decades, and he is ready to share the principles that have contributed to his success in an upcoming live workshop called The 7000 V Experience: Turning Shock into Shift.
