In the spotlight: Emmanuel

One Church One Child of Florida, Inc.

One Church One Child of Florida is a faith-based, 501(c)3 organization, operating statewide in partnership with the Department of Children and Families and Local Community Based Lead Agencies and their providers in recruitment of adoptive and foster families and local churches to partner in supporting children in foster care and local families through Church  Watch-Care Ministries.

One Church One Child of Florida acknowledges the children who need a permanent family. November is National Adoption Month and the series continues featuring children all over Florida who are waiting in foster care for a forever loving family to call their own.

November’s child is highlighted in this article. Continue to pray for him, and consider making him a part of your family through adoption or a part of your church through Project Watch-Care, for support and mentoring.

Emmanuel, age 17

“I’m the next big thing!”

Emmanuel, or “Manny” as he prefers to be called, is an awesome kid with a ton of charisma. His friendly, outgoing energy is infectious and he’s often in the center of a group of friends.

He has a strong creative side, especially for music, and he enjoys playing the piano and writing song lyrics. Manny is also talented on the basketball court, and he knows his way around the kitchen too.

Despite the setbacks in his life, Manny retains an optimistic and open outlook, and has an amazing strength of character. When he grows up he wants to be involved in the music industry, whether it’s behind the scenes or right up front. The coolest thing he was able to do last year was to record a song in a real studio.

Manny’s a great kid with a ton of potential. He needs the love, guidance and encouragement of a forever family to keep him on course. He’s ready and open to being part of a family, and he’d do best as the only child in the home.
