Praise the Lord, everyone.
The moment you decide that your feelings and thoughts are more important than obedience to the Word of God, you have taken a path that you have no clue will ultimately lead to condemnation. The sad, sobering reality is that you have condemned those following your lead.
There was a time when no one, especially the men of God, would ever even think to attempt to alter the Word and preach just as instructed. They wouldn’t dare to think of the consequences of doing something they used to preach would send the violator straight to hell, do not pass Go, do not collect $200. (In case you are clueless, the game Monopoly).
Now, it would appear that somewhere, somehow, God has decided that He didn’t mean what He said, and because of the troubling times, this “culture” seemed to have caught God off guard, and there was no way He could have anticipated all this.
Funny thing about that — read.
Luke 17:28-37, Amplified Bible
28 It was the same as it was in the days of Lot. People were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building [carrying on business as usual, without regard for their sins]; 29 but on the [very] day that Lot left Sodom it rained fire and brimstone (burning sulfur) from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 It will be just the same on the day that the Son of Man is revealed. 31 On that day, whoever is on the housetop, with his belongings in the house, must not come down [and go inside] to take them out; and likewise whoever is in the field must not turn back. 32 Remember [what happened to] Lot’s wife [when she looked back]! 33 Whoever seeks to save his life will [eventually] lose it [through death], and whoever loses his life [in this world] will keep it [from the consequences of sin and separation from God]. 34 I tell you, on that night [when Messiah comes again] there will be two [sleeping] in one bed; the one (the non-believer) will be taken [away in judgment] and the other (the believer) will be left. 35 There will be two women grinding [at the mill] together; the one (the non-believer) will be taken [away in judgment] and the other (the believer) will be left. 36 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other will be left.”]
. Matthew 24:37-39, Amplified Bible
37 For the coming of the Son of Man (the Messiah) will be just like the days of Noah. 38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the [very] day when Noah entered the ark, 39 and they did not know or understand until the flood came and swept them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be [unexpected judgment].
Based on just these two passages, Jesus prophetically revealed that these times, the ones we are currently in, would happen, and the most terrifying part is that it’s just the beginning, with worse times to come.
Why, then, are the spiritual leaders deciding that they have some invisible forcefield around them, a hedge of protection, and no harm will come to them for compromising, altering, or twisting the Word?
I’m gonna leave you this week with one of the most gut-wrenching, petrifying, yet eye-opening passages I believe only a fraction of the population knows is in their Bibles.
It’s one that, when I first read it, I was dumbfounded and couldn’t believe my own eyes.
I was always under the impression that Satan was the only one creating delusions that could and would ultimately send us to hell.
Well, if this is you, be prepared to be startled just as I was.
For the sake of clarity, I will use the NLT version so that there is no misunderstanding.
2 Thessalonians 2, New Living Translation
Events before the Lord’s Second Coming
2 Now, dear brothers and sisters, let us clarify some things about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and how we will be gathered to meet him. 2 Don’t be so easily shaken or alarmed by those who say that the day of the Lord has already begun. Don’t believe them, even if they claim to have had a spiritual vision, a revelation, or a letter supposedly from us. 3 Don’t be fooled by what they say. For that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness is revealed—the one who brings destruction 4 He will exalt himself and defy everything that people call God and every object of worship. He will even sit in the temple of God, claiming that he himself is God.
5 Don’t you remember that I told you about all this when I was with you? 6 And you know what is holding him back, for he can be revealed only when his time comes. 7 For this lawlessness is already at work secretly, and it will remain secret until the one who is holding it back steps out of the way. 8 Then the man of lawlessness will be revealed, but the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him by the splendor of his coming.
9 This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles. 10 He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them. 11 So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies. 12 Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.
Till next week,
God Bless.
