State of the City address will take place Tuesday, Jan. 30 at The Palladium Theater, 253 5th Ave. N.
ST. PETERSBURG — Mayor Ken Welch invites the community to join him at the annual State of the City address at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30. The event will take place at The Palladium Theater, 253 5th Ave. N. Doors open at 10:30 a.m.
The State of the City will serve as an opportunity to celebrate the community, recognize the city’s milestone markers achieved during Welch’s second year in office and look forward to what lies ahead in 2024.
Parking is limited at the Palladium. In addition to street parking, we recommend the following parking options:
- Museum of the American Arts & Crafts Movement’s Parking Garage, located at 350 3rd St. N, for $1 per hour.
- Sundial/MidCore Parking Garage: Entrance located at 117 2nd Street North, three blocks from the Palladium. The cost is $1 for up to four hours.

Advisory Commission on Aging – (two vacancies)
The Advisory Commission on Aging consists of 15 members who support, leverage, and advocate for programs and resources that protect and ensure quality of life for St. Petersburg’s aging community. The commission’s vision is a community where seniors can receive the services and resources needed to live a safe, independent and dignified life.

Consolidated Plan Application Review Committee – (seven vacancies)
The Consolidated Plan Application Review Committee is a committee of city councilmembers and private citizens that reviews applications submitted for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME), and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) and makes recommendations to full City Council for approval of funding.

Health Facilities Authority – (two vacancies)
The Health Facilities Authority (HFA) performs the functions to provide a method for tax-exempt financing and refinancing for not-for-profit organizations authorized by law to provide hospitals, nursing homes or other types of health-related services. The authority conducts the public hearings required by the federal Tax Exempt Financing Reform Act (i.e., TEFRA hearings) for health facilities projects.
