The Challenge of Submission

BY REV. DORAL PULLEY

Scripture – “Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God (Ephesians 5:21).”

Denial – I have no regrets.

Affirmation – Everything in my life is happening exactly when it is supposed to happen.

Kingdom Principle – Divine Timing

Some insights that you receive are not for immediate implementation.  God has given them to you so that you can build consciousness and confidence around the idea.  Everything is not to be shared with everybody. Sometimes the only thing that Spirit is asking you to do is submit to a process. Often that process of submission includes writing things down and sitting with the information until the right and perfect time.

The spiritual awakening that Jesus had at 12 years old was only for him (Luke 2:41-52). It was not for Mary, Joseph, or the public. This experience was for him to awaken to the truth of who he was and what he was called to do.  The scriptures do not record him doing any public ministry for another 18 years. During these years, he went back home, submitted to his parents, and continued to grow.

Be patient with yourself and submit to your process. Salvation is not a one-time experience, but it is a constant unfolding of your consciousness. You may fall asleep and need to be awakened more than once before you actualize the fullness of your spiritual identity. There may be several alarm clocks that sound before you are sure of your calling.

Reflection Questions – Do you have any challenges with submitting to others or a process that does not result in immediate results? Do you have any challenges with the word submit?  If so, what are they and what can you learn from them?

Giving Activity – Sow a financial seed into the life, ministry, or business of someone who is where you desire to be in consciousness.
