Acclaimed jazz vocalist Fred Johnson will headline Bethel Community Baptist Church’s 100th anniversary ‘Jazz Under the Stars’ concert on July 14.
ST. PETERSBURG — Bethel Community Baptist Church is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year and will host a “Jazz Under the Stars” concert at 6 p.m. on July 14 at the church located at 2901 54th Ave. S.
The concert will feature acclaimed jazz vocalist Fred Johnson and his band. World renown, Johnson has performed with Chick Corea, George Benson and Ramsey Lewis. From 1996 to 2005, he served as vice president of education at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center.
General admission is $40, and VIP seating is $50. Tickets are available on Eventbrite. Guests are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs or blankets. Food vendors will be available, and no alcoholic beverages will be allowed.
This concert is a series of events the church is hosting that leads to its official 100th anniversary in October.
