Breaking the Cycle: What does the Bible say on the matter?

Praise the Lord Saints.

1 Timothy 3:1-2 and Titus 1:4-6

These passages of scripture clearly define those seeking the position of shepherd, leader, pastor of a church of God.

I don’t know how many ways you can misunderstand this but for some strange reason it is epidemic throughout the body of Christ.

I can speak to this point that I know there is no way an unmarried man of God can help me become a better husband.  You can’t teach what you don’t know, and you can’t lead where you won’t go.  It’s that simple.  The single pastor having private discussions with the single sister behind closed doors is dealing with the blameless part.  I am not speaking to anything except what we read from the Bible.  You have to stop and research these things and then ask God for the understanding if you have issues with what is written because again, it’s not my opinion, its Bible.

We can’t fix our neighborhoods and communities until we fix the church.  No one family or person has a monopoly over God’s Church.  If it’s that way then so be it, but when it comes to the things of God we have to do it God’s way if we want the blessings He promised.  Yes it’s gonna shake the very foundation of some, no many churches, but we are talking about people’s very eternal destinies that are at stake and we can’t be so prideful that we ignore the seriousness of this subject.

I want to make this very clear that you can’t say that this opinion is mine because here are biblical scriptures to support this.  Again, this is Bible.

  • Genesis 3: 6, 12-13, 16
  • 1 Cor. 14: 33-35, 40
  • 1 Timothy 2: 9-15
  • 1 Cor. 11: 1-3
  • Ephesians 5: 22-24
  • Titus 2: 3-5
  • Matthew 28: 16-20   Mark 16: 14-18; Luke 24: 36-49; John 20: 19-23
  • Mark 16: 1-8, 14-18
  • Colossians 3:18

There can be debate after debate on this subject but the Word is just that, the Word.

This is one of those subjects to me just like those of homosexuality, and many other controversial issues and I have the same exact answer for them all, I will tell you what the Bible says and leave it there.  It’s up to the individual to decide what they are led to believe but I believe what God says about everything in this life.

To decide otherwise would not be in your best interests if you desire the blessings of God.

I heard a statement from another pastor that I felt deserved repeating, the average professing Christian in America is in actuality a practicing secular humanist.

I believe somewhere along the way, they didn’t quite get the full understanding of what it meant to be a “Christian.” I like what I heard another say when they said that we are saints and not Christians because of the nature and history of where the term Christians originated.

I believe you are a saint or sinner based upon that which you spend the majority of your time practicing. Also, of course, whether or not you have professed Jesus is the Son of the Living God and came and died for all sin and was risen the third day.

Not preaching just teaching on this highly volatile subject. I say volatile only because of the state of where the church and body of Christ are in relation to what the Bible actually says.  I trust the Bible.

Romans 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar.

I stated this earlier and will state it again, I only speak what the Bible says and no more. I will not ever state my opinion, feelings, or the like when it comes to the Word of God.  If I thought it would have mattered I think He would have had me pen at least one verse of the thousands penned by the many men of God He used to pen them.

I only write to educate, empower, and engage to the point it spawns a response, a response based on the very origin I used, the Word of God.

Too many men have claimed the power or position without having earned or been qualified to have been there and it’s the nucleus of all the confusion throughout the body of Christ.

Once this issue has been corrected, we will then see the hand of God move in a mighty way to build His house the way He designed it to be.

There is so much going on that if we decide to rely on the church to fix the societal problems of today before addressing and fixing these matters, we could be even worse I fear.  It’s like the blind leading the blind and neither can warn when a pothole is placed in the path leading to deliverance.

In closing remember this, I’m not radical, I just believe we have to live our lives the way God said we should and that He has nothing but the best in store for us if we would just trust He knows what’s best for His people and there is nothing that we won’t give up for Him that He won’t give us Better in return.

Till next week,

God Bless.

Dr. Rob
