ST. PETERSBURG — The members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Zeta Upsilon Omega Chapter in partnership with the Youth Development Foundation of Pinellas County, Inc. held the 2019 Harlem Nights Fundraiser Saturday, June 8 at the historic Manhattan Casino.
If was as if you stepped into F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby.” Flappers on the dance floor, debonair bon vivants rolling lucky numbers – for entertainment purposes only – jazz reverberating off the walls and spirits flowing. The night was filled with the essence of the Roaring 20s, all for charity.
As the community revisited the Harlem Renaissance, they were also raising funds for scholarships for local high school and college students, community programming and financial support to local organizations.
The night saw performances by songstress Deneen Wyman, a silent auction for numerous items ranging from gift baskets to Caribbean destinations. The art of local artist Steven Ramsey was also showcased.
The Zeta Upsilon Omega Chapter would like to thank everyone in attendance and the following sponsors for supporting this event to help support resources for The Youth Development Foundation of Pinellas County, Incorporated:
