Debbie and Silvester Tumbling were happily married on June 16 at Bethel Community Baptist Church with Pastor Manuel Sykes officiating over the blessed day.
ST. PETERSBURG — How did two high school sweethearts reunite after 38 years and marry within 90 days of said reunion? It was God’s plan.
Silvester and Debbie Tumbling first married Nov. 21, 2018, at the Pinellas County Courthouse. The second ceremony was to honor his parents Maggie T. Davis and the late Sanfust Tumbling and her parents the late Bishop Samuel Butler Sr. and Elder Loretta “Maggie” Tisdale-Butler (the well-known gospel Butleraires Singers of St. Pete).
The second ceremony was held June 16 at Bethel Community Baptist Church with Pastor Manuel Sykes officiating over the blessed day.
“We appreciate everyone who participated and everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to shower us with love and gifts,” said the newlyweds. “Words can’t appreciate how much we love you.”
The happy couple would like to thank Boyzell Hosey and Jerrod Douse for the photography, saxophonist Henry Ashwood for musically lighting up the day, line dancing instructor Leslie Henry and Myia Mills and Diamond Russell who coordinated the “The Women of Colors” ceremony.
They also would like to thank participants Kim Leggett, Nicole Butler, Dollie Wilkins, Sabrina Wiseman, Imanni Bilal, Sabrina Ross, Lisa Butler, Sylvia Manning and Pastor Lorraine White.
