ST. PETERSBURG — The opening night of the Through Our Eyes: Midtown and Beyond photo exhibit was as a success as students, parents and the community spent the evening at Studio@620 in downtown St. Pete.
This 15th annual exhibit showcased 100 photos, multimedia and newspaper pieces from journalism students at Melrose Elementary, John Hopkins Middle and Lakewood High schools. This year’s events included a poetry/spoken word performance, gallery hours during Second Saturday Artwalk and A Taste of the City event, featuring samples of dishes from various local eateries.
During the Jan. 10 opening reception, students interviewed Mayor Rick Kriseman and Louis Murphy, Jr., Gibbs High School’s head football coach and former Tampa Bay Buccaneer.
The community can view the student’s work at Studio@620, 620 1st Ave S, St. Petersburg, through Jan. 29.
