ST. PETERSBURG — Every summer party needs a live DJ, great food, and drinks. Now, you can add LIV 21 to the vibe. This revolutionary drink is the first of its kind to hit the market.
From fun-family BBQs to a day on the boat, it’s the secret sauce recovery beverage to keep the party going without worrying about feeling sluggish the next day.
Two best friends from St. Petersburg, Reggie Reed and Michael Morrison, came up with this concept while traveling on their annual summer vacation when it hit them to create a beverage to replenish and rehydrate the body after indulging in alcoholic beverages.
Now, you can drink, vibe, and recover with LIV 21 at its official launch celebration at 8 p.m. on June 24 at LIT Cigar & Martini Lounge, 908 N. Franklin St., sponsored by St. Petersburg Distillery.
For more than 15 years, the co-founders always believed in the motto “work hard, play hard.”
“Mike and I were looking for ways to travel more and have fun when the idea hit us. We had no prior knowledge of the industry, but we knew people would relate to the product,” Reed said.
“At this stage in our life, we wanted to create something different and innovative for people like us who enjoy having a great time with family and friends but also have a thriving professional life,” Morrison stated.
LIV 21 is carefully crafted with electrolytes and essential vitamins and is recommended to be consumed while or after drinking alcoholic beverages. It’s infused with coconut water to rehydrate the body, and its signature “culture blend” is made with the following key ingredients:
- DHM is a natural, liver-boosting ingredient that helps to speed up the breakdown of toxins.
- Milk Thistle enhances antioxidant activity in the body to reduce inflammation and calm the stomach.
- Taurine is a fast-acting amino acid and natural energy booster that can help minimize hangover-related fatigue.
As a professional international basketball player, Morrison believes LIV 21 is simply an extension of his brotherhood with Reed and their dedication to celebrating their successes.
Since playing basketball at Lakewood High School, they were known as the unstoppable point guard and center to dominate the court. As time went on, Morrison’s career continued as a professional athlete, while Reed became a successful fourth-generation roofer.
In 2020, he was awarded 40 under 40 by the Tampa Bay Business Journal for his overall success and being the owner of Reggie Reed Roofing, a family-owned and operated business, while serving as the director of recruitment at St. Petersburg College.
While their lives evolved from childhood, one thing remained constant, their brotherhood. Like clockwork, Reed and Morrison made time to bring their families together to vacation and celebrate their professional successes every summer. This tradition became their launching pad to expand their lives as business partners in their startup venture LIV 21.
Over the last two and half years, Reed and Morrison bootstrapped the business, researched the industry, and partnered with local manufacturers to develop the lemon berry recovery drink.
Join Reed and Morrison at the official launch celebration at 8 p.m. on June 24 at LIT Cigar & Martini Lounge, 908 N. Franklin St., sponsored by St. Petersburg Distillery.
