Deadline approaching for 3 grants available for south St. Pete CRA businesses

ST. PETERSBURG — The City of St. Pete Launchedthe 2019 cycle of the South St. Pete Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) Grant Program, starting with the release of three place-based opportunities to help CRA businesses. Deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on Feb. 11.

This year’s place-based opportunities include three grants:

  • Commercial Site Improvement Grant
  • Commercial Building Interior and Tenant Improvement Grant
  • Commercial Revitalization ProgramGrant

Requirements

Commercial grants are awarded once a year. Each grant has its own application requirements and deadlines. Place-based opportunities require applicants to attend mandatory workshops. For grant requirements and workshop schedule, visit stpete.org/CRA.

Application Submission:

The city will be accepting applications for the three commercial grants starting Friday, Feb. 1. All applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Feb. 11.  Applications must be brought to The Greenhouse, located at 440 2nd Ave. N. The Greenhouse is open from 8- 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday.

The place-based opportunities are one of three components that make up the CRA Program – it also includes people-based and housing-based opportunities.

About the CRA Grant Program

The CRA Grant Program was created in 2015 as part of the city’s innovative, 30-year revitalization plan designed to help boost private investment in commercial and multifamily residential development in South St. Pete. The CRA is generally located between Fourth Street and 49th Street, from Second Avenue North to 30th Avenue South.

The program is comprised of three buckets of opportunities – place-based opportunities, people-based opportunities and housing-based opportunities. The releases of the remaining opportunities are to be announced.
