Dear Reader: We Let Go to Embrace

Dear Reader,

I’m not sure how my words will find you when you read them, but I pray that they find you well and bring you hope and perspective.

Letting go is the process that will allow us to embrace. There are times in life when one must choose to let go of what they have always known to embrace what they have never known. Despite uncertainties and unfamiliarities, this process is one that allows you to look to the future with anticipation, and it is also one that allows you to embrace freedom and the newness of all that awaits you.

Things are changing, and a moisture fills the air. An oasis of God’s promises awaits you. Can’t you hear God’s voice calling, and can’t you hear His whispers in the wind?

“Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. [God’s] about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! [He’s] making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands. Wild animals will say ‘Thank you!’ —the coyotes and the buzzards— because [He] provided water in the desert, rivers through the sunbaked earth, drinking water for the people [He] chose, the people [He] made especially for [Himself], a people custom-made to praise [Him]” (Isaiah 43:18-20 MSG).

The necessary steps will require you to let go to embrace. Take these steps, and be courageous, for if you don’t, you will only know what you have always known.

Release, let go, and free yourself to embrace, Dear Reader, because the truth of the matter is, Beloved, it was never truly meant to be your burden to carry forever.

Dear Reader, continue to trust God even in the most difficult places, because He will see to it that you make it to the destination of His promises. I want you to know that you are not alone, and it is my prayer that this column will make you feel as though you have a place to belong and somewhere to call home.
