Grant amounts range from $10,000 to $500,000 and fund work in the three zip codes of the South St. Petersburg Community Redevelopment Area in the priority focus areas of Mental Health and Wellness for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color and Economic Equity and Justice.

ST. PETERSBURG – The Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg and Bayfront Health have jointly awarded $4.8 million in grants to 30 community organizations for 2023 and 2024. The grant awards, which are the result of a partnership announced last summer, will support work in the zip codes of the South St. Petersburg Community Redevelopment Area (33705, 33711, 33712), focusing on the funding priorities of Mental Health and Wellness for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color and Economic Equity and Justice.

Grant awards range from $10,000 for capacity-building to $500,000 for multi-sector collaboration. Below is a complete listing of the partners and projects funded, including creating a BIPOC doula network, early childhood literacy and wrap-around services, and more.

“Bayfront Health is excited to support the impactful community work that will result from this partnership with the Foundation for a Healthy St Petersburg,” said John Moore, senior vice president, Orlando Health West Region and president, Bayfront Health. “These grants represent a significant investment in our local community to improve the health and wellbeing of residents we’re proud to serve.”

The grant application for the 2023 and 2024 funding cycles opened in August and closed in October.

“We’re thrilled to fund and support these phenomenal community projects and partners, who will make our local community healthier and more racially equitable,” said Foundation President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kanika Tomalin. “Grantmaking is a key pillar of our work to achieve health equity through racial equity. We’re truly appreciative of this continued partnership with Bayfront Health, which allows us to deepen our impact and investment in the city we’re so honored to serve and proud to call home.”
