Rainey’s Bulletin: Increasing parent and church engagement by 100 percent
Rainey’s Bulletin: Increasing parent and church engagement by 100 percent
For the past several weeks the Parent Support For Education Council, Inc. (PSFEC) has been soliciting community buy-in, support and active participation via a listening challenge to Pinellas County School District and the community including churches, neighborhood associations, parents and the grassroots community. To date, PSFEC has received encouraging positive responses.
Imagine this!
What if, the grassroots community (the ones in the trenches for school success), including local business and community – based organizations, came together with parents and schools to focus on the five elementary schools located in St. Petersburg, namely, Campbell Park, Fairmount Park, Lakewood, Maximo and Melrose?
What if all the above came together and listen to each other with the attitude of the Lord (Phil 2:5). Not blaming, but actually listening to each other!
What if churches, schools, parents came together in an earnest commitment to focus on getting positive results in academic, discipline, respect for authority, attendance and tardiness?
What if all concerned develop respect for each other?
What if the love bond among parents and children significantly increase?
What if the Lord heard and the people turned (2 Chron 7:14)?
Wow! Would not the rest of Pinellas County Schools and the community be astounded by the amazing results and say: “See what the Lord has done? The school district and the community listened to each other!”
