Dear Reader: Better Days Will Come

Dear Reader,

I’m not sure how my words will find you when you read them, but I pray that they find you well and bring you hope and perspective.

There are times in life that we search for the right words and ways to support because we see the struggles that we ourselves have known, and we see the tears that we ourselves have cried. We know the weariness, and we know the heaviness. We know the heartbreak and pain, and we know the questions because we ourselves, at one point in time or another, have searched to understand ‘Why?’. We asked them at times, because we, too, didn’t have the answers.

There are times when the right words are absent, and there are also times when the right words are present. But sometimes, to be silently present is the only support that a friend may need.

So, Beloved, I stand here with you in silence and want you to know that you do not stand alone. Better days will come, and everything, no matter what it is, is going to be alright. Cry now, and know that God will wipe away your tears, for weeping may endure for a night, but joy will come in the morning light (ref. Psalm 30:5).

I’ll leave this song with you, and I pray and hope that it brings you encouragement, comfort, and peace. I also stand with you in supportive silence and want you to know that you do not stand alone.

Dear Reader, continue to trust God even in the most difficult places, because He will see to it that you make it to the destination of His promises. I want you to know that you are not alone, and it is my prayer that this column will make you feel as though you have a place to belong and somewhere to call home.
