Dear Reader: You’re Fighting for A Reason

Dear Reader,

I’m not sure how my words will find you when you read them, but I pray that they find you well and bring you hope and perspective.

It is often stated that everything happens for a reason, but it is most often that we struggle to find that reason. We search for reasoning in the answers to our questions, and we search for light throughout the darkness of life’s situations because life often will give you the test before it gives you the answers. I have found that the perplexities of life do not often produce the answers at the beginning, but instead at the end. Not in death always, but more so where one chapter ends and another one begins. I have found that your valleys can often add value to your life, somewhat like the surface of a coin with a variation of details on either side. We may not always have control of which side the coin lands on – good or bad – but I have also found there to be blessings and burdens on both sides. The value of these circumstances will and can produce equity in your life. I make no attempt to minimize your circumstance with the cliché of this statement, but I have truly found that, in fact, everything does happen for a reason. There’s a blessing in the reason, even if we have to go through the burden to find that reason.

Dear Reader, I want you to know that you’re fighting for a reason, and I also want you to know that it happened for a reason. So, Beloved, persevere, endure, and don’t give up because the conclusion of one dark chapter can often lead you into the beauty and light of another. You may not have all the answers right now, but one day you will; so, continue to trust God even in the most difficult places, because He will see to it that you make it to the destination of His promises. I want you to know that you are not alone, and it is my prayer that this column will make you feel as though you have a place to belong and somewhere to call home.
